Terre-de-Bas Anchorage

15° 51.6′ N · 61° 37.1′ W · approximate

The lee of Terre-de-Bas, the quieter, residential sister island across the 890 m channel from Terre-de-Haut, where you can drop the hook off Grande Anse / Anse des Mûriers far from the ferry wakes of the main bay.

Practical

Position approx: in the water off the east coast between Grande Anse bay and the Anse des Mûriers ferry port (OSM bay node 15.86051,-61.62312 and port 15.85449,-61.61635), checked against the OSM coastline. Sources are thin: Noonsite (Feb 2024) states there are at present no moorings on the Terre-de-Bas side ('Anse Fideling'), so this is an anchoring spot - check depth, holding and any ferry approach lanes yourself and stay clear of the ferry pier. Land at the Anse des Mûriers harbour; there is a small fuel station by the port (road station, OSM). Petite-Anse village (town hall, post office, small shops) is a walk over the hill.
