17° 4.1′ N · 61° 40.7′ W
The larger of Green Island's two named anchorages, usually well protected from the trades.
Practical
Position is the OpenStreetMap 'Ricketts Bay' node. AMG and ABYMA: once past Submarine Rock head for Rickett Harbour, which is usually protected from tradewind weather unless the wind goes south-east. The smaller Tenpound Bay nearby takes only one or two yachts. Watch the reef off Ricketts Harbour that extends south of Green Island when approaching (Yachting Monthly), and the breaking water on the south-west corner of Green Island (AMG). Mill Reef Club private land ashore: only the north and north-west of the island are open to yachtsmen.
