Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport Runway
17° 38.7′ N · 63° 13.2′ W
The world's shortest commercial runway - 400 m (1,300 ft) of tarmac on the Flat Point lava shelf with cliffs dropping to the sea at both ends; watching a Winair Twin Otter land is a Saba rite.
Practical
Coordinates from Wikipedia. Only STOL aircraft (DHC-6 Twin Otter, BN-2 Islander) and helicopters use it; tower is advisory only. Winair flies from St Maarten (about 12-15 minutes); crosswinds can cancel landings, so crew flying out should allow a buffer day in SXM. Watch landings from the road down to Cove Bay or from the Flat Point trail.
