Grande Anse (Terre-de-Haut)

15° 51.8′ N · 61° 34.7′ W

The long windward beach on Terre-de-Haut's east coast, next to the airstrip - wild, wave-washed and spectacular, facing the open Atlantic.

Practical

Position is the Grande Anse beach polygon in OSM. La Dive Bouteille describes it as known for its waves; Grande Anse beach is under a biotope-protection order (English Wikipedia). Treat it as a walk-and-look beach: surf and currents make swimming risky on the windward side - swim only in very calm conditions. Easy walk from town past the cemetery.

Best for

A windward beach walk and big-sea views
