Grand-Bourg Port (Marie-Galante)

Marie-Galante's main town and ferry port on the southwest coast, with a small marina basin and buoyed entrance - the place for customs, banks, the hospital and the island's widest shopping, a short bus ride from Saint-Louis.

Position approx: in the harbour approach between the lit entrance buoys and the basin, checked against the OSM coastline. OSM charts starboard-hand buoy GB1 (red, Fl R 2.5s) at 15.88016,-61.31915 and port-hand buoy GB2 (green, Fl G 4s) at 15.88102,-61.32043 (IALA region B: red to starboard entering), a 'Marina de Grand Bourg' and a marked small-craft fuel station at 15.88124,-61.31695 - berth availability and fuel-dock hours are not confirmed by any cruising source; call ahead or ask at the port. Fast ferries from Pointe-à-Pitre use the port several times a day (first departure 6am), so keep the channel clear. A yacht anchored outside Grand-Bourg had its dinghy stolen in April 2017 - lock dinghies. Customs office: see Marie-Galante Clearance.
