Tyros Harbour

37° 14.7′ N · 22° 52.1′ E

The harbour of a Tsakonian seaside town under the ancient Kastro hill, with a long curved pebble beach, fish tavernas and bars — rebuilt with new quays in 2016.

Practical

Coordinate is the mapped harbour (OSM 'Λιμένας Τυρού'). Works in early 2016 extended the mole, built quays and a slipway (Greek Wikipedia). Sea-Seek describes room for about 30 boats with good wind protection, water and electricity, and a bank, post office and medical centre in town. Sailing Issues: good holding, but the sloping seabed means you need plenty of scope; prevailing winds are easterlies or westerlies. Regional clinic (OSM 37.24672, 22.8607), pharmacy, road fuel (Shell, Avin) and KTEL Arkadia buses.
