Tyros Easter at Sea

37° 14.7′ N · 22° 52.1′ E · approximate

Tyros celebrates Easter on the water: on Good Friday the Epitaphios processions move along the seafront escorted by fishing boats, and on Holy Saturday an effigy of Judas is burned on a raft in the harbour.

Practical

Coordinate approx: Tyros harbour. On Easter Sunday a Tsakonian feast is held in the main square with the Gospel read in Tsakonian; on August 6 (Transfiguration) a large trade fair is held near the harbour (Greek Wikipedia). Expect the quay to be busy with local boats on these dates.
