Poros Summer Festivals & Piano Festival

37° 29.9′ N · 23° 27.1′ E

Poros fills its summer with music: open-air concerts on Plateia Iroon, the International Summer Piano Academy & Festival in late August, the Synoriaka history-and-music weekend around the turn of September and, in July, the Lemonia (lemon) festival.

Practical

Coordinate is Plateia Iroon, the main seafront square used for concerts (OpenStreetMap pharmacy node on the square). The municipal events page (visitporos.com) lists: International Summer Piano Academy & Festival 'Anastasios Leimonis' (14th edition 18–28 Aug 2025; 15th edition 2026); 'Synoriaka of Modern Greece' (29–31 Aug 2025; earlier editions with a talk on Poros in the 1821 War of Independence, a Navy band and big-name concerts); Lemonia festival (17–31 Jul 2025); a Full Moon night at Plaka (8 Aug 2025); a full-moon piano recital at the Sanctuary of Poseidon (19 Aug 2024); and in earlier years a Poros Arts Festival (June–September). Concerts usually start around 9:30pm (e.g. 12 Jul 2024 in Plateia Iroon). The town quay is busiest on festival weekends, so arrive early or anchor in Navy Bay. Dates change yearly: check the municipal calendar.
