Moni Island West Anchorage

37° 41.7′ N · 23° 25.8′ E · approximate

Anchor off the north-west side of Moni in clear turquoise water over sand, with pine-clad hills above and peacocks calling from the trees.

Practical

Position approx: placed ~100 m off Moni's NW shore using the OpenStreetMap island outline and Sailing Issues' description of boats taking lines to the rocks SW of Moni beach; verify depth on your plotter. Several anchorages on the north coast plus one on the south. Sandy holding; very busy with Athens day boats at weekends and crowded in high season — quiet in November. No water or services on the island; a beach bar operates at the landing in summer. About 1 nm from Perdika.
