Moni Island Dive Site

37° 41.5′ N · 23° 26.4′ E · approximate

The rocky walls of Moni, opposite Perdika, are the best-known dive in the Aegina area: vertical rock, small caves and a 'seal's cave' below an old wartime observation post, with groupers, moray eels and octopus.

Practical

Position approx: a point off Moni's east side facing Perdika, derived from the island's position; the exact cave location is not published. Grafas Diving describes good visibility and currents that vary with the season, suitable for all levels. Athens-based Amphibious Diving Center (PADI, Cholargos) runs full-day speedboat trips from Lagonisi combining Moni with the Avantis III freighter wreck near Aegina (upright at 18–35 m; Open Water plus 4 logged dives, age 12+). From your own yacht, anchor in Moni's west anchorage or Perdika and dive with Aegina Divers. Moni is a protected nature area — no spearfishing or taking anything.
