Wildlife· Moni· Greece — Ionian, Saronic & Argolic
Moni Island Peacocks & Deer
37° 41.5′ N · 23° 26.1′ E
Uninhabited Moni has been a protected game park since 1962 — deer, Cretan kri-kri goats, peacocks, pheasants and squirrels wander down to the beach, and a path climbs to a WWII German lookout with views over the Saronic.
Practical
Land by dinghy at the north-coast beach or take the 10-minute water taxi from Perdika (regular in summer). No drinking water on the island — bring water and food. The deer are used to people and will approach looking for food; resist feeding them. Path to the summit lookout on the north side is steep.
Best for
Wildlife walk and the best view in the southern Saronic
