Kouloura Harbour

39° 44.7′ N · 19° 56.4′ E

A miniature, perfectly round fishing harbour on a wooded headland north of Kalami, with a stone boathouse, a single taverna and one of the most photographed views on the island.

Practical

Coordinate is the anchorage just outside the harbour (mySea, 5–12 m, weed bottom). The harbour itself is only 1.5–2 m and suitable just for small shallow-draft boats (mySea); SailingIssues: too shallow — anchor near the beach. Two small jetties carry about 4 m alongside (mySea). Ferries running the North Corfu Channel throw a considerable wash into these bays: if staying overnight, anchoring off with a long line ashore is safer than going stern-to a jetty (mySea safety note).

Best for

Lunch stop and photographs; anchor outside
