Agni Bay

39° 44.2′ N · 19° 55.8′ E

A tiny pebble bay under olive-covered hills facing Albania, with three waterfront tavernas and their wooden jetties — the classic north-east Corfu lunch anchorage, where you swim off the boat and then walk the planks to a table.

Practical

Coordinate from mySea (anchorage in 4–10 m). Holding reported as sand at 3–5 m with good holding (SeaDreamers) — other guides describe sand and weed, so dig in well. Three piers you can take a long line to — allow for swell (SailingIssues); jetty depths 1.5–4 m (mySea). Ferries running the North Corfu Channel throw a considerable wash into these bays: if staying overnight, anchoring off with a long line ashore is safer than going stern-to a jetty (mySea safety note). Moorings and tables fill early on August lunchtimes: arrive by about 12:30 pm and book through the taverna (SeaDreamers). Greek lunch runs from about 1:30–2 pm. Shelter: good in the prevailing NW; exposed to E–SE. The beach slopes steeply with submerged rocks (Greeka). Gialiskari cove, just north, is the better choice in easterlies (SailingIssues).

Best for

Lunch stop with jetty tavernas; calm NW-wind anchorage
