Anchorage· Corfu· Greece — Ionian, Saronic & Argolic

Kassiopi Harbour

39° 47.4′ N · 19° 55.4′ E

A horseshoe fishing harbour ringed with tavernas and cafés under the walls of a Byzantine castle, looking across the strait to the Albanian mountains — the most characterful village stop on Corfu's north coast, where Cicero once sheltered and Nero is said to have sung.

Practical

Coordinate from mySea (harbour; depths 1.5–4 m, uneven — take care). Near all-round shelter, but in a strong NE move out to the Imerolia anchorage (SailingIssues). Visiting yachts berth under the west breakwater or along the east quay; the east part of the mole is deeper with fewer rocks; consider going bows-to with a long (up to 10 m) line and using the dinghy to get ashore, keeping the rudder clear of rocks (SailingIssues). A strong WSW hugs the coast and turns WNW or NW here (SailingIssues). Bottom mud and weed. Fuel, water and ATM listed (mySea). Ashore: grocery shops, tavernas, bars; castle walk 10 minutes; beaches at Bataria and Kalamionas (Greeka, SeaDreamers).

Best for

Village night with a castle sunset walk

Season

May–Oct; move out in strong NE
