Brindisi–Corfu Regatta

39° 47.4′ N · 19° 55.4′ E

Each June more than a hundred yachts race overnight from Brindisi in Italy across the Strait of Otranto to Corfu — billed as one of the most important offshore races in the Adriatic — finishing off Kassiopi and berthing at Gouvia for the prize-giving.

Practical

Coordinate is Kassiopi harbour (mySea), the finish in the 2019 and 2024 editions (Brindisi–Otranto–Kassiopi in 2019). Organised by Circolo della Vela Brindisi with the Marina Gouvia Sailing Club (co-organiser for nine years by 2024); fleet hosted at Gouvia Marina with the prize-giving there. Dates seen: 16–18 June 2019; 12–14 June 2022 (36th edition, 100+ boats, awards at the Gouvia cricket ground); 9–11 June 2024 (38th edition) (enimerosi.com). Expect Kassiopi and Gouvia to be busy that week; check the current year's dates with the clubs. A Corfu–Paxos race at NAOK could not be verified; the 34th Ionian International Sailing Week ran 3–11 August 2024 with NAOK and Gouvia clubs taking part (enimerosi.com).
