Kassiopi Castle
39° 47.5′ N · 19° 55.2′ E
Ruined Byzantine walls on the headland above Kassiopi harbour — one of three castles (with Angelokastro and Gardiki) that guarded medieval Corfu, overlooking the Corfu Channel where Alexios I Komnenos beat the Norman fleet in 1084.
Practical
Coordinate from OpenStreetMap. Free open site, an easy 10-minute walk from the harbour (SeaDreamers). The Venetians deliberately dismantled it after its garrison resisted them in 1386 (Wikipedia). Go at sunset for the view across the strait to Albania.
Best for
Short walk with a big view over the North Corfu Channel
