Ieraka Lagoon Anchorage
36° 47.1′ N · 23° 4.9′ E · approximate
The quiet western end of the Ieraka inlet, where you can lie to your own anchor on mud near the entrance to the lagoon instead of mooring at the tavernas.
Practical
Coordinate approx: placed in the western part of the inlet, checked against the OSM coastline to be in water. Sailing Issues: anchor west near the lagoon in 3–4 m of mud; holding is poor in places — set the anchor carefully and check it. Sea-Seek: only shallow-draft boats should push through the narrows toward the lagoon itself. Strong SE winds make the whole harbour untenable.
Best for
Anchoring away from the taverna quay
