Fokianos Bay

A wild, road-end bay under bare mountains between Poulithra and Kyparissi, with a long pebble beach, one taverna and some of the clearest water on the coast.

Practical

Coordinate is the Sailing Issues marker (37.07257, 22.96838), checked to be in water; Sea-Seek's waypoint is 37°04.29'N 22°58.06'E. Sailing Issues: very well protected in northerlies — anchor on sand in 8–12 m near the NNW corner of the beach; some swimming areas are about 8 m deep. Sea-Seek: untenable in the prevailing summer SE wind; good protection from N; a cove in the NE corner gives reasonable protection; watch for mooring blocks on the bottom. Taverne Costa Mare mapped at the hamlet (37.07297, 22.96554).

Best for

Northerly-wind refuge and a wild swim stop

Season
