Poulithra Harbour

37° 7.0′ N · 22° 54.2′ E

A small fishing harbour below the traditional village of Poulithra, guarded by Vigla hill where ancient Polichni and a medieval lookout tower once stood — quiet, untouristy and 7 km from Leonidio.

Practical

Coordinate is the mapped harbour (OSM); Sea-Seek waypoint 37°06.96'N 22°54.15'E. Sea-Seek: the little mole has room to moor; beware underwater rubble extending from the quay; good protection from the prevailing summer S winds, but N winds send swell into the harbour. Cafés and tavernas on the front (Apanemo, Zavalis, Myrtoon); minimarket 'Barba-Nikos' in the village (OSM 37.11344, 22.89515). Poulithra is a protected traditional settlement and part of Natura 2000 site GR2520005 (poulithra.org).

Best for
