Dessimi Bay

38° 40.3′ N · 20° 42.8′ E

A pretty bay on the outside of the Geni peninsula, just south of the Vlicho entrance, with a pebble beach, campsites and a beach kantina.

Practical

Anchor in 4-10 m (sailingissues.com; sailingissues waypoint 38.67236, 20.71252); my-sea says drop at 8-10 m on the north side of the bay. The south side has a small motorboat rental and a buoy field for local boats. Open to S and SE. Pebble beach with two restaurants and a snack bar (Kantina at 38.67284, 20.71175). On the east side near the cape a tiny white-cliffed cove takes one boat with a line ashore; my-sea notes the seabed there shelves steeply and holding is poor, so treat it as a day stop. Greeka mentions a cave with starfish for snorkelling.
