Thilia Islet Anchorages (Meganisi Channel)

38° 39.5′ N · 20° 43.6′ E

A low (35 m), uninhabited wooded islet in the Meganisi Channel between Lefkada and Meganisi, with a popular cove on its east side and a better one on the south.

Practical

Coordinate is the sailingissues.com waypoint 0.2 nm east of Thilia (38 39.500 N, 20 43.600 E). Sailingissues: the east cove is popular; the prime spot is east of the rocky shelves at the south of the islet; narrow trails cross the islet to the chapel of Zoodochos Pigi. Opposite on Meganisi, anchor off Ammoglossa (sandspit) near the beach bar, or off Koutalades beach further north (room for one boat, lines to the rocks, a small wreck). Expect wind funnelling in the channel in the afternoon.

Best for

Calm-morning swim stop in the channel
