Spartochori & Spilia Quay (Meganisi)

38° 39.7′ N · 20° 45.6′ E

Spilia Bay on Meganisi's north-west coast, with the small ports of Zampati and Spilia below the hilltop village of Spartochori — one of the most popular stops in the Inland Sea.

Practical

Sailingissues.com: Zampati is the first port in Spilia Bay, good in all winds except NNE (then move to the Spilia/Spartochori quay); the seabed rises sharply so holding is good stern-to; berths just west of the ferry and on Porto Spilia taverna pontoons (owned by Panos and Babis) are premium; mostly laid moorings. At the Spilia SE quay the prevailing NW-NNW blows straight onto the berths; lazy lines are installed; bows-to is recommended at the quay next to the Nidri ferry (expect lorries queuing). Three floating pontoons belong to Porto Spilia taverna, the rest of the quay is municipal. my-sea: pontoons have water and power; a fuel truck can deliver diesel; a minimarket, bar and restaurant on the beach. Walk up the steep road to Spartochori for tavernas Lakis and Summer Sun and the view. Car ferry to Nidri from here. Sailingissues waypoints: Spartochori 38 39.652 N, 20 45.686 E; bay N entrance 38 40.100 N, 20 45.700 E.
