Basimakopoulos Shipyard (Koilada)
37° 24.7′ N · 23° 7.8′ E
The big yacht yard of the Argolic Gulf, in sheltered Koilada Bay: a 110-tonne travel lift, hydraulic trailers, hundreds of boats on the hard and a long tradition of wooden boatbuilding.
Practical
Coordinate is the yard's own published position (37°24'39.04"N 23°07'50.23"E). Call 'Kilada Yard' on VHF 77; no phone is published on the yard's site — use its contact/offer form at bsg.com.gr. Facilities (yard site): travel lift to 110 t, remote-controlled hydraulic boat trailers of 160, 60 and 40 t, space for about 350 vessels, repairs and maintenance, dry docking, a marine store, and traditional wooden-hull construction. Cruiser report (Noonsite, 2016): no pontoons — anchor close to the buoyed channel in the shallow, well-protected bay and wait to be called on VHF 77; reservation essential, winter spots sell out well before summer; owners may work on their own boats; showers, toilets and wifi; power and water at every stall. Prices then were €10 per day storage for a 14 m monohull and €800 lift-and-launch plus VAT — 2016, verify locally. A Noonsite commenter (2024) confirms Porto Heli itself has no real boatyard; the Koilada yards (Basimakopoulos and the smaller traditional Lekka yard) are about 20 minutes by car.
