Zefyros Beach Anchorage (Rhodes)

36° 25.8′ N · 28° 14.2′ E · approximate

Open roadstead just south-west of Rhodes Marina, off Loutra Kallitheas / Zefyros beach. In northerlies it is calmer than the marina itself, with room to lay out all your chain.

Practical

Position approx: Sailing Issues says 'immediately SW of the Marina'; the point is derived from the Rhodes Marina position and is not a surveyed spot, so sound your way in. Sand, excellent holding, plenty of room. Open NE–S. New rules require anchoring well away from the beach: black pillar buoys mark a no-anchoring zone (possibly removed in winter). Ashore are Orthodox, Jewish, Muslim and war cemeteries, a park, and Surprise Bakery & Cafe to the north.

Best for

Free anchoring near town in northerlies

Season

Good in northerlies; open NE–S
