Rhodes Marina

36° 26.1′ N · 28° 14.4′ E

The modern purpose-built marina about 1 nm south-east of Mandraki: quieter, with laid moorings, security and a dry-dock yard. It is the easy alternative when the old harbour is full.

Practical

Rhodes Marinas (rhodesmarinas.com), position N 36°26'16" E 28°14'26". Call the dockmaster on VHF 71 on arrival; he guides you to your pre-assigned berth, then you check in at the Client Service Center. Partner agency Roditis Yachting handles entry formalities. Grecosailor gives about 4.8 m depth. mySea (2016) lists about 380 berths with yachts up to 60 m on the breakwater; PlainSailing says 600 berths. Marina services include water, power (32 A to 250 A pillars), bilge/black-water pump-out, a fuel berth, showers, laundry machines, a dry dock with lifting equipment and hardstanding, CCTV and fenced security. Shelter: generally good, but strong N–NE and S–E winds send swell into the basin. A 2015 Noonsite report describes a dangerous surge in 50-knot easterlies, and Sailing Issues reports rolling damage on some berths. A sandbar lies about 150 m north of the entrance (Noonsite 2015): approach from the NE. The Old Town is a 15–25 minute walk NW (taxi about €7, 2016). Across the road are a bakery, restaurants and an AB Vassilopoulos supermarket about 200 m west (117 Kanada St), with a Lidl about 3 km away. Reported prices: €86 for two nights for 12 m in 2017 and €45 a night for 14 m in 2016 (Noonsite); verify locally.
