Vlichadia is home to the Valsamidis brothers' Museum of Marine Life and Findings: forty years of sponges, corals, shells, WWII torpedo and aircraft fragments, 6th–2nd century BC amphorae and even an ancient wreck. The surrounding south-coast seabed is what the island promotes for diving.

Practical

Private museum. CruisersWiki lists hours as 10am–2pm (older report; verify locally). It also shows sponge processing and sells sponges and shells. Diving: the municipality describes Kalymnos' seabed as one of the most interesting in the Mediterranean, and the island hospital has a modern decompression chamber. Specific dive sites, dive centres and current rules on diving near antiquities were not verified for this entry, so book through a licensed local dive centre. Coordinate from the municipal site's map pin.
