Vlichadia Bay (Kalymnos)
36° 55.8′ N · 26° 57.9′ E
A small, attractive cove on the south coast a couple of miles west of Pothia, with three tavernas, a beach and the eccentric Valsamidis sea museum.
Practical
Anchor in 4–5 m in the middle of the cove, clear of the day-boat landing. The bottom is loose mud with uncertain holding. Good meltemi shelter but gusty, and the wind often swings from northerly to southerly at night. Taverna moorings were laid close together; one buoy parted from its riser on a CruisersWiki visit, so check before trusting them. A 2024 report counted only two buoys and room for at most three boats. Morning bus to town at 8am (tickets bought in town).
Best for
Quiet south-coast night close to Pothia
Season
May–Oct; avoid in southerlies
