Tarti Bay (Lesvos)

38° 58.6′ N · 26° 29.4′ E

A green, tree-lined bay on the south coast just west of the Gulf of Gera entrance, with clear greenish water, beach tavernas and a beach bar on the east side.

Practical

Grecosailor: the eastern side is mostly weed; it took two attempts to hold in 10 m, with long scope close to the swim-float barriers. yachting.com: visible rocks on the west side of the entrance; no pier, anchor only; good protection from the meltemi. Open to the south — a southerly of 15 kn blows straight in. Neighbouring coves: Fara Beach (38.9735, 26.4838; sand patches in 4–6 m, canteen), Ligonari and Tsilia to the east. Plomari is 5.6 nm west for shopping.
