Steni Vala Harbour (Alonissos)
39° 11.5′ N · 23° 55.6′ E
A peaceful fishing village in a narrow inlet on Alonissos' east coast — tavernas, a mini-market and bakery, and the last provisioning stop before Zone A of the marine park.
Practical
All-round shelter in summer except ENE to SSE (SE winds mostly in winter). Depths along the north quay are under 1.5 m with rocks, so most yachts can't reach the quay stern-to: carry long lines, drop anchor near the opposite shore, run the windward line by dinghy and keep the stern off; ferry crew by dinghy or borrow long planks from Ikaros. The summer breeze turns east inside, giving a crosswind; weed can stop the anchor setting. Room for about 10 visiting monohulls — arrive early afternoon; plenty of space before June. Fuel delivered to the quay: +30 697 91 91 817. Water from tavernas; electricity at one pillar (ask at Sossinola). Ikaros mini-market, café and bakery; Sossinola family taverna (Sailing Issues).
