Skyros Ponies

The Skyrian horse is a tiny, ancient native breed that survives in the wild only on Skyros. Herds run semi-feral in the southern mountains and were traditionally rounded up for threshing.
Practical
The position is the Molos supermarket (OpenStreetMap). Greektravel says the Skyrian Horse Project, which holds the largest concentration of ponies, is behind the main Molos supermarket, and it accepts donations. The breed has been critically endangered since 1991. The Linaria Port Fund cites 152 on Skyros in 2009, and Greektravel says about 150 survive. The ponies are protected, so do not feed or approach the wild herds in the south. Interbreeding with feral donkeys is a threat.
