Mytilene Town Harbour Quay
39° 6.2′ N · 26° 33.7′ E · approximate
The deep commercial harbour in front of Mytilene's waterfront mansions, the Statue of Liberty and the castle hill, where yachts berth stern-to on the town quay among ferries, cruise-ship tenders and grey navy vessels.
Practical
Coordinate is a point in the harbour basin off the town quay, derived from OpenStreetMap coastline geometry (not surveyed). One guide gives 3–6 m alongside the town quay, deeper in the outer sections, with water and power on parts of the quay; berthing is stern-to on your own anchor. Ferry wash and commercial movements make it uncomfortable and berths may be moved for ships — the Setur marina 600 m south is the calmer choice. Noonsite reports that, unless you use an agent, officials expect clearing yachts to come to the ferry/Customs dock, which has poor fenders. Port police (Central Port Authority of Mytilene) and Customs are on the harbour front. Everything in town — Ermou street market, bakeries, tavernas, banks — is within a 5-minute walk.
Best for
Overnight in the heart of Mytilene town when the marina is full
Season
