Mytilene Port of Entry — Port Police & Customs

39° 6.3′ N · 26° 33.5′ E

Mytilene is the main Greek port of entry for Lesvos and the usual check-in after crossing from Ayvalık or Dikili in Turkey: the Central Port Authority (Limenarcheio) and the Customs house stand on the harbour front.

Practical

OpenStreetMap places the Central Port Authority of Mytilene at this point and the Customs house (Teloneio Mytilinis) about 150 m east on the waterfront. Noonsite: you must visit Customs, the Port Authority and the passport office; Customs has been reported open from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm on most days, so for a dawn departure clear out before 6:00 pm the evening before (older report; verify locally). Unless using an agent, officials expect you to tie up at the ferry/Customs dock, which is unsuitable for yachts. The Setur marina describes itself as a port of entry/exit and helps with paperwork. Have the e-Transit Log, TEPAI proof, registration, insurance, crew list and passports ready; non-EU crew need passport stamps. VHF 12 is the usual coast guard working channel in Greek ports (some cruisers call before entering and leaving). Lesvos is on a busy migrant route from Turkey and coast-guard patrols are frequent; expect questions about your last port.
