Megalo Seitani (Samos)
37° 46.2′ N · 26° 38.2′ E
A long white-sand beach backed by the green Kakoperato gorge, with a chapel of St Nicholas perched on a rock at one end - no road, no buildings.
Practical
Settled-weather lunch stop only (CruisersWiki); exposed to northerlies. Natura 2000 monk seal habitat - keep well clear of any seal and of sea caves. The name comes from the Turkish 'seytan' (devil), for the strange sounds the gorge makes in wind. No facilities; hikers arrive via a 3 km path from the end of the Potami dirt road.
Best for
Wilderness beach on the NW coast
