Limnionas Bay (Samos)
37° 41.9′ N · 26° 38.5′ E
A lake-calm bay on the SW coast under Mount Kerkis whose name means 'like a lake'; freshwater springs seeping from the seabed make the water exceptionally clear and cold.
Practical
The main bay gives some shelter from the north but is subject to strong gusts off Kerkis and is exposed to the south. Better: the sandy cove just east of Limnionas - more private, better shelter, anchor in 5-6 m, excellent holding (validated 2016). Organised beach and tavernas ashore. Closest anchorage to the Kerkis trailhead at Kampos Marathokampou.
Best for
SW-coast overnight and Kerkis base
