Lalaria Beach (Skiathos)

39° 12.4′ N · 23° 28.8′ E

Skiathos' postcard beach on the wild north coast: white marble pebbles below cliffs with a natural rock arch and pillar, reachable only by boat; the sea caves of the north coast lie close by.

Practical

Rocky bottom with boulders — use a trip line and minimal chain, as chain can get stuck. A lunch stop in light winds only; strong north winds can make anchoring impossible (Sailing Issues, yachting.com). Crowded even off-season; the cliffs look best from the beach. Go early in the day for peace (Dream Yacht guide).

Best for

Boat-only beach and cave snorkelling in a calm southerly

Season

Calm or southerly days only
