Kastelia Beach & Reef (Amoopi, Karpathos)

The southernmost of the Amoopi coves, half sand and half pebble, with clear azure water and rocky edges full of fish. It is one of Karpathos's best-known easy snorkels.
Practical
Beach position from OpenStreetMap. Greeka calls it 'a highly popular snorkelling spot' for its clear water and marine life; sunbeds and umbrellas are for hire. Kastelia is about 6 km south of Pigadia. Anchor off the Amoopi coves (see Amoopi) and swim or dinghy in; keep clear of swimmers and of the buoyed bathing area in season. Open to the east.
