Antipsara — Psili Ammos & Agios Ioannis
38° 31.9′ N · 25° 31.1′ E
Uninhabited Antipsara, 3 km west of Psara, is a day trip for its beach of Psili Ammos — described as one of the most astonishing in the Aegean — and the little church of St John on its east side, a pilgrimage in August.
Practical
Grecosailor now gives three anchoring positions (see the Antipsara Agios Ioannis and South & SE anchorage entries); summer tourist boats also run from Psara, about 45 minutes (Wikipedia; ferryhopper; phototravellers). Island inaccessible from N and W. CruisersWiki warns of many reefs around Antipsara and Katonisi on the approach from the west — approach only in settled weather by daylight with a lookout, or take the local boat. Church of Agios Ioannis Prodromos at 38.541 N 25.516 E (OSM). Pin: Psili beach (OSM).
