Psara Harbour
38° 32.4′ N · 25° 33.9′ E
The only harbour on Psara, tucked on the SW corner of a barren, history-soaked island 10 nm off NW Chios — small, very well protected and rarely crowded with yachts.
Practical
Port entrance 38°32.36'N 25°34.20'E (Noonsite). About 6-8 yachts can anchor-moor stern-to on the west quay; about 3 m with soft mud, good holding (Noonsite 2017; CruisersWiki: mud, weed and some rocks). Bow- or stern-to in high season, alongside possible off-season. The outer quay (clear of ferries) is very exposed in northerlies; elsewhere too shallow or full of fishing boats. Water and electricity points on the quay — use water sparingly, the island supply is very limited. Strong NW winds can make entry very hard. Harbour light F at the entrance (OSM seamark). Coast Guard VHF 12; no Olympia Radio signal. Free 'Psara WiFi' at the harbour. OSM now maps the basin as 'Marina Psara' but no source describes new facilities — verify locally. Grecosailor (position 38°32'22.9"N 25°33'53.5"E): draught about 2.5 m, VHF 12, port tel +30 22710 22770 / 23237, water and electricity available, harbour fees very low or sometimes not collected; the wind often comes on the beam when mooring. Psara Port Police (Limenikos Stathmos) tel +30 22740 61336 (dimospsaron.gr).
