Psara Holocaust Commemoration
38° 32.4′ N · 25° 33.9′ E
Every summer, around the anniversary of the 1824 destruction, Psara holds church services and memorial events for the islanders who died at Mavri Rachi.
Practical
The destruction took place on 20-21 June 1824 Old Style, which is 2-3 July New Style (Wikipedia), and the commemoration falls around then: allovergreece lists the 'Feast of the Holocaust' on June 28. Check the year's programme with the municipality. August 15 is also a feast day on the island (allovergreece). Expect the small harbour to be full.
