White Beach Anchorage (Akrotiri)

36° 21.0′ N · 25° 22.8′ E

A small anchorage off the white pumice cliffs and black-pebble cove of White Beach, reachable only by sea, just west of Red Beach.

Practical

Marker coordinates from sailingissues, southwest of the cove (OSM beach at 36.3500-36.3507 N 25.3818-25.3829 E). Sailingissues: smaller than Red Beach, with reefs and several rocks further offshore the headland, so approach from the south in good light with a bow lookout and use a trip line. OSM marks rocks off the headland between White and Red beaches at about 36.3454-36.3455 N 25.3829-25.3831 E. Medgulets (March 2026): settled weather only; southern winds push swell into the cove. There is no road; summer water taxis run from Akrotiri pier. The pumice cliffs above are soft and erode; stay out from under overhangs and avoid climbing them. Swimming and snorkelling are good along the rocks.

Best for

Quiet calm-day anchorage and snorkel
