Thira Port Authority (Athinios)
36° 23.2′ N · 25° 25.8′ E · approximate
The Thira Port Authority (Coast Guard, Limenarchio Thiras) controls every harbour on the island and in the caldera, and sets the post-earthquake access rules.
Practical
Coordinates are the Athinios ferry port (OSM), not a surveyed office position: the directory gives only the address 'Thira 84700'. Contact by phone or VHF instead: +30 22860 22239, thira@hcg.gr, VHF 12. Santorini is not a Noonsite-listed port of entry, so clear into Greece elsewhere (Ios, Syros or Mykonos in the Cyclades, or a Crete port) before arriving. Present ship's papers, the e-TEPAI cruising-tax receipt and crew list if visited. The Port Authority may ask yachts to leave the Fira Old Port (Skala) when it is crowded. Since the 2025 earthquake swarm access to the cliff-foot harbours (Ammoudi, Armeni, Fira Old Port, Athinios, Korfos) has been regulated; check current rules before entering any caldera harbour (see Santorini Seismic Access Restrictions).
