Thiorichia Sulphur Mines (Milos)
36° 41.6′ N · 24° 32.6′ E
The abandoned sulphur mine at Paliorema on the east coast: rusting loading gantries, mine buildings and a yellow-pebbled beach where the sea runs strange colours.
Practical
Wikivoyage: sulphur quarry ruins and a yellow-pebbled beach at Paliorema (Thiafes) bay; parts of the east are only reachable by a suitable vehicle. Greeka: a small, secluded beach reached by track or boat. The coast is exposed to the meltemi, so visit by boat only in calm weather or westerlies. Do not enter the ruined buildings.
