Panteronisi & Tigani Snorkel (Blue Lagoon)

36° 58.5′ N · 25° 6.9′ E · approximate

The shallow turquoise water between Tigani and Panteronisi islets at the south end of the Paros-Antiparos strait, the 'Blue Lagoon' of the day-cruise boats, with a cavern dive under Panteronisi for divers.

Practical

Paros Voyages: the Blue Lagoon at Panteronisia is best known for its clear turquoise water and is a regular swim stop on Antiparos and Despotiko cruises. Greeka and Manawa: Cycladic Diving (Aliki) visits the cave at uninhabited Panderonisi on its two-dive trip; the floor is sand, rock and large anemones, and good buoyancy control is required. For snorkellers, swim the rocky edges of the islets from the boat or dinghy in settled weather; day-cruise boats arrive from late morning, so go early. Watch for boat traffic and fly a dive flag. Depths are not given in the sources; anchor on sand only (see Panteronisi Islets Lagoon for the anchorage). Position approximate: between Tigani (OpenStreetMap way 10216250) and Panteronisi (way 10216238), from their outlines.
