Aliki Harbour (Paros)

36° 59.9′ N · 25° 7.8′ E

A small fishing village and harbour on Paros's south-west coast, near the airport, with a lengthened L-shaped breakwater and a sandy bay. It is the go-to southern shelter when the meltemi has some west in it.

Practical

Sailingissues: the L-shaped breakwater has been extended (older GWP charts are out of date), and you can go alongside it, which is useful in strong northerlies with a westerly component. The prime anchorage is in the opposite corner of the bay: sand, 3-5 m, solid holding (the position used here). mySea logs about 3 m in the harbour and 2-10 m over sand with good holding in the bay. Ashore: Aqua Marine restaurant at the breakwater (Sailingissues), Kritikos and Proton supermarkets, Sophie's Bakery, a pharmacy and the Cycladic Diving centre (OpenStreetMap). Open to the south.

Best for

Southern-coast shelter in NW-N winds, with village supplies

Season

Apr-Oct; open to southerlies
