Panteronisi Islets Lagoon (Antiparos)

36° 58.5′ N · 25° 7.0′ E · approximate

The chain of small islets (Panteronisi, Tigani, Glarompi) at the southern entrance of the Paros-Antiparos strait encloses shallow turquoise water; day-cruise routes list Panteronisia and the 'Blue Lagoon' among their swim stops. Below it, the Panteronisi cavern is one of the area's best dives.

Practical

Day-cruise routes from Paros and Antiparos stop at Panteronisia and the 'Blue Lagoon' (Paros Voyages), so expect company from late morning. Depth and holding are not given in the sources consulted: approach slowly from the south with a bow lookout and sound your way in, because this is the shoal-studded southern end of the strait. The Panderonisi cavern has a sand, rock and large-anemone floor and needs good buoyancy control; it is visited on Cycladic Diving's two-dive trip from Aliki (Manawa; Greeka). Use it as a day stop only and leave if the wind goes south. Position approximate: midpoint between Tigani and Panteronisi islets from their OpenStreetMap outlines.
