Panormos Bay (Mykonos)

37° 28.6′ N · 25° 21.7′ E

The broad north-coast bay of Mykonos, with a quiet sandy beach and a beach bar at its head. It's a calm-day or southerly-weather stop, not a meltemi anchorage.

Practical

Protected from south and east winds, but open to the north (Aegean Islands guide), and Mykonos-guide sources warn the meltemi sends swell straight in. Use it in settled weather or in a southerly or sirocco, when the south coast is a lee shore. Anchor off the beach on sand (Greeka describes a golden-sand shore). Beach bar with loungers. Agios Sostis lies in the eastern arm of the same bay. Coordinates from Sailingissues.

Best for

Southerly-wind refuge on the north coast

Season

Settled weather or S-SE winds; untenable in meltemi
