Monastiri Bay (Paros)
37° 8.6′ N · 25° 13.7′ E
The sheltered bay below the monastery of Agios Ioannis Detis at the north-west tip of Naoussa Bay, inside the Paros Park, with a beach bar, clear water and trails to the Korakas lighthouse.
Practical
mySea: a good sheltered place to stay overnight when Naoussa harbour is full, about 5 m on sand with seaweed patches and good holding, with small niche beaches and a seasonal restaurant. Sailingissues: anchor by the rocky promontory west of the monastery and take a line ashore (marker 37.14431 N, 25.22806 E). Greeka: the water stays about waist-deep for roughly 100 m, the bottom is soft sand, and yachts regularly moor here. Boats run from Naoussa and sea buses from Parikia. Noonsite: there is a boatyard at the head of this bay (Ormos Ay Ioannou), and concerts and films are held at the park in summer. Position from the mySea anchorage entry.
Best for
Overnight when Naoussa is full; walk the park trails to the lighthouse
