Lefkes Bay (Kythnos)

37° 22.4′ N · 24° 27.1′ E

A quiet east-coast beach shaded by tamarisks, with a decent taverna and an old overhanging loading crane from the island's mining days. It is the end of Kythnos Route 2 from Dryopida.

Practical

Sailingissues gives the anchorage and notes the taverna, but no depth or shelter data was verified. On this east coast the meltemi comes off the land in gusts. Check the bottom and keep clear of the Zogkaki reef to the north. Local feasts: St John the Baptist on 27 June and St Marina on 17 July. The coordinate is the sailingissues/OpenSeaMap marker.
