Korfos, the shallow bay just north of Ornos, is one of Europe's best-known kitesurf spots. The meltemi funnels over the low isthmus and builds a steady, cross-shore blow from June to September.

Schools on the beach: Duotone Pro Center Mykonos (kite, windsurf, wing, e-foil, SUP; rental, lessons and repairs; tel +30 6937 238080, info@dpc-mykonos.com) and the Kite Mykonos / Kite Club beside it (+30 6943 429468). Wind is strongest on meltemi afternoons. Greeka notes the beach is often littered by the wind and isn't ideal for swimming. Don't anchor in the kite zone. Use Ornos (5 minutes' walk) and walk over. Position is the beach point from Greeka.
