Kolona Beach (Kythnos)
37° 24.8′ N · 24° 22.8′ E
The famous double beach of Kythnos: a narrow strip of sand joining the island to Agios Loukas islet, with clear water lapping both sides.
Practical
Greeka calls it the most famous beach on the island, with crystal-clear water and limited shade; the beach bar rents sunbeds and most of the shore is unorganized. There is no quay, so boats land on the sand. Water taxis run from Merichas, the road is rough, and the hike from the port takes about 1.5 hours. Expect many yachts and Athenian motor cruisers on summer weekends. Position from OpenStreetMap.
Best for
Walking the sandbar between two seas
